Natural gas prices for about 110,000 households in the South will rise by 2.8 percent from April 1. A rival, RWE, announced at the end of last week that it would raise prices by 2.9 percent for the next quarter. The reasons are the same for both companies: oil is rising and the dollar is strengthening.
“The reason for the increase is the gradual increase in oil prices on world markets and oil derivatives and the strengthening of the exchange rate of the US dollar in more crowns,” Vladimir Vcha spoke about the increase in E.ON talk prices.
Anyone who puts on gas, pays a few extra crowns, customers who even use gas, pay and ten crowns extra
Last year, the largest natural gas supplier in the country, RWE Transgas, announced the increase. Prices in average by 2.9 percent for the first time in a year and a quarter. (see previous link)
A barrel of oil is now trading at about $ 75, a year ago it was a dozen dollars cheaper. According to Vcha’s speech, E.ON buys gas for about a year in advance. At that time, however, the dollar was two crowns cheaper than now. Since the meeting of this year, the US dollar has been strengthening in crowns.
